Saatva Adds Percale Sheets to Premium Bedding Line
Nothing beats the feeling of slipping between crisp, cool sheets.
That's why we're excited to introduce the latest addition to our premium bedding line: our Organic Percale Sheet Set, made from long-staple organic cotton.
Here, learn all about the benefits of sleeping on percale sheets and what you can expect from the newest addition to Saatva's bedding collection.
Benefits of sleeping on percale sheets
Percale refers to the way cotton fabric is woven on a loom. On a loom, there are "warp" (horizontal) threads and "weft" (vertical) threads. Percale is a traditional one-yarn-over, one-yarn-under pattern.
In this type of pattern, each weft thread passes over one warp thread and then under the next warp thread. This produces an airy and lightweight fabric.
There are many reasons why someone would choose percale sheets. For starters, percale creates a matte finish with a crisp, soft feel that stands up well to everyday use.
This type of weave allows for great airflow between threads, resulting in a breathable material that's ideal for people who sleep hot.
A look at Saatva's percale sheets
Saatva's percale sheets are woven from long organic cotton fibers, called staples. The material is naturally hypoallergenic, antimicrobial, and breathable. Sheets come pre-washed for a soft, lived-in feel.
Our percale sheets are woven in a Fair Trade Certified factory and certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. That means they're produced according to strict environmental guidelines and guaranteed to be free of harmful chemicals.
They also feature a 200 thread count for the perfect balance of coolness and comfort. (The higher the thread count, the warmer fabrics become. According to the National Sleep Foundation, a thread count of 200-400 is ideal for cool sleep).
Our percale sheets are available in sizes from twin to California king in white, ivory, and grey; fitted sheets have deep pockets with full elastic to fit mattresses 10 to 16 inches high. A queen set (flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillowcases) costs $155.
