You already know that a medium-firm mattress is ideal for back sleepers\u2014now it\u2019s time to consider the mattress type.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Innerspring, hybrid, memory foam, and latex foam mattresses can all be good options for back sleepers\u2014but there are a few things you\u2019ll want to keep in mind when selecting a new mattress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Above all, you want a mattress that provides a balance of comfort and support for your upper body and lower body. Both memory foam and latex foam contour to your body and cradle your spine. Here are a couple to try:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pillow positioning:\u00a0<\/strong>&#8220;Use body pillows on either side to create barriers or try a wedge pillow or adjustable bed to elevate your upper body slightly,&#8221; says Rosen.
