Many weighted blankets can’t be washed in a washing machine due to their high weight and the nature of the materials in them. For example, we recommend<\/a> having our weighted blanket dry cleaned only when needed because of its high weight and the fact that it\u2019s made from 100% natural materials. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So always check the care label first to ensure you can put your weighted blanket in the washing machine. For weighted blankets that can be put into a washing machine, you should take special care and only use cool water and a gentle cycle because materials like plastic poly beads inside the blanket could melt if the water is too hot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weighted blankets that are on the heavier side (i.e, 15 pounds or more) likely won\u2019t fit in your home washing machine and could even do damage to it, so consider going to a laundromat and using a commercial washing machine for it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
