\u201cThe biggest downside is often the price\u2014they can be much more expensive than regular mattresses,\u201d Harris points out. \u201cAlso, the technology might feel unnecessary to some people\u2014and if something breaks, repairs can be complicated or costly. Then there\u2019s the fact that people can become overly focused on sleep. There\u2019s actually a name for it\u2014it\u2019s called orthosomnia, a condition in which people become too<\/em> obsessed with tracking sleep\u2014and it can be detrimental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPeople can definitely get overly focused on sleep, and it can actually backfire,\u201d says Harris. \u201cConstantly worrying about how much or how well you’re sleeping can lead to anxiety<\/a>, which disrupts sleep even more.
