Saatva Helps Expand Youth Volleyball Access Through Brooklyn Youth Sports Partnership

Saatva proudly supported the inaugural season of the Brooklyn Youth Sports Club (BKYSC) volleyball program, helping introduce more than 100 young people in East New York to the sport through free instruction, coaching, and community programming.

Developed through a collaborative effort between Brooklyn Youth Sports, Big City Volleyball, the LOVB Foundation, and community supporters, the program was created to expand access to organized athletics and provide local youth with opportunities to build confidence, teamwork, leadership skills, and healthy habits through sports.

The initiative grew from conversations that began in 2025 following a volleyball clinic in New York City featuring professional athletes from the League One Volleyball (LOVB) community. With support from donors and partners, including Saatva, the vision quickly evolved into a successful youth program serving families throughout East New York.

In its first year alone, the program introduced more than 100 young people to volleyball while creating a welcoming environment focused on skill development, mentorship, and community engagement.

“To see gifts of time and money put to work in such an impactful way is incredibly gratifying,” said Kathleen DeBoer, Chairperson of the LOVB Foundation. “Thanks to the collaboration between Brooklyn Youth Sports, Big City Volleyball, Saatva, and so many dedicated community leaders, the underserved community of New York City had the opportunity to discover the sport of volleyball and all the lessons it can teach.”
