Saatva-Sponsored Waterloo Soccer Club Wins Austin Men’s Over-40 Premier League Championship

Saatva is proud to celebrate a major milestone for one of our community partners: the Saatva-sponsored Waterloo Soccer Club has officially been crowned the 2025–2026 Austin Men’s Soccer Over-40 Premier League Champion.

The title marks Waterloo FC’s first league championship in seven years, ending a lengthy drought for a club that had previously established itself as one of Austin’s premier amateur soccer teams.

Making the championship especially meaningful for Saatva is the fact that the winning squad includes one of our own, Saatva Creative Director Adrian Dickerson, who helped lead the team throughout its championship campaign.

Saatva’s sponsorship began this spring as Waterloo FC set its sights on returning to the top of the league. The team added new talent, committed to an intensive season of training and competition, and spent much of the season chasing first place. Entering the final match, Waterloo trailed league leader RMX by two points, meaning only a victory would secure the championship.

Waterloo took an early 1-0 lead before conceding two late goals, suddenly falling behind 2-1 with just minutes remaining. Refusing to give up, the team equalized in the 89th minute to keep its championship hopes alive. Deep into stoppage time, Waterloo earned one final corner kick. After a frantic scramble in front of the goal, the ball found a Waterloo defender at the back post, whose shot slipped past the goalkeeper just before the final whistle. The dramatic 3-2 victory vaulted Waterloo to 37 points—one point ahead of RMX—to capture the league title.

“Our goal from the start of the season was to make a serious run at the championship,” said Dickerson, who ran as Waterloo FC’s midfielder. “We knew it would take commitment from every player, and everyone bought in. That final match was unlike anything I’ve experienced—we never stopped believing, even after falling behind late. To win the league on the very last play of the season made all the hard work worthwhile. Having Saatva supporting our team this season made the journey even more special.”
