Saatva Celebrates NYC Marathon Week with Tatyana McFadden
Exclusive Rest & Recovery Event Highlights the Role of Rest in Peak Performance
Ahead of the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon, Saatva hosted Recovery & Conversation: The Power of Rest for Peak Performance, an intimate evening dedicated to the role of restorative sleep in athletic performance. Held at Saatva’s Flatiron Viewing Room, the event brought together media, runners, and wellness enthusiasts for an engaging conversation featuring Tatyana McFadden, multi-time world champion and five-time NYC Marathon winner, and Frank Reneau, News Designer at The New York Times and Founder of A Mile. A Minute.
The discussion explored the physical and mental demands of long-distance running and the habits that help athletes perform at their best. Drawing on McFadden’s experience competing at the highest levels of wheelchair racing and Reneau’s perspective as a runner and storyteller, the conversation examined the importance of preparing for race day beyond the miles logged in training. Topics included recovery routines, nutrition, mental preparation, and the often-overlooked role of consistent, quality sleep in helping the body recharge, rebuild, and prepare for the next challenge.
Following the conversation, guests were invited to experience a restorative wellness oasis designed to encourage them to slow down, recharge, and prioritize their own recovery. Mockingbird served refreshing mocktails, while M&G Foods provided protein-forward bites. Guests could also enjoy hand and forearm aromatherapy massages and posture analyses from Spa Chicks, along with Saatva-branded collapsible water bottles to keep hydration top of mind.
The evening extended beyond the event itself through thoughtfully curated gift bags featuring wellness and lifestyle essentials from TELETIES, VERB, TimeBeam, LMNT, Dropps, ISDIN, and Slumberkins. Together, the experiences and products reflected the many ways runners can support their well-being, from fueling and hydration to everyday recovery and rest.
The event underscored Saatva’s commitment to supporting peak performance through restorative sleep, reinforcing an essential message for athletes and everyday runners alike: preparation is about more than how you train. How you rest and recover matters just as much. As marathon participants prepared to take on the five boroughs, Recovery & Conversation offered a timely reminder that quality sleep is an essential part of the journey to the starting line and every finish line that follows.
Notable attendees included Leslie Blount (Campaign US), Tiffany Moustakas (Fast Company), Amy Schlinger (Runner’s World, Women’s Health), Lexi Rosenberg (People Inc.), Lottie Bildrici, and Roberto Clemente.
