Saatva Hosts U.S. Olympic Gold Medalists Danny O’Shea and Ellie Kam for Media Event in New York

Saatva welcomed U.S. Olympic gold medalist pair skaters Danny O’Shea and Ellie Kam to its Flatiron Viewing Room in New York City on March 31, bringing together a select group of media for an intimate conversation on sleep, recovery, and elite athletic performance.

The appearance comes on the heels of the athletes’ experience with the Saatva Winter Bundle during the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, where Saatva supported U.S. Figure Skating competitors with a curated sleep setup designed to enhance rest and recovery. During the event, O’Shea and Kam shared how consistent, high-quality sleep played a big role in maintaining resilience throughout training. The duo, as key members of Team USA, captured gold in the figure skating team competition, edging out Japan in a tightly contested event.

Timed ahead of Better Sleep Month in May, the gathering spotlighted the growing importance of restorative sleep as a foundation for peak performance. Media attendees had the opportunity to engage directly with the athletes in a relaxed setting, exploring topics ranging from recovery routines to the products they rely on.

Alison Barretta, founder of More Than Mattresses on Substack, attended for an in-person interview, offering a closer look at the athletes’ daily routines and approach to sleep consistency—touching on everything from structured training days to the importance of a reliable wind-down routine and sleep environment.

Additional post-event interviews were conducted with Olivia Bellusci for First for Women, expanding on broader themes around performance, recovery, and the role of sleep as a foundation for both physical and mental well-being.

The visit also included a meet-and-greet with Saatva leadership, including Chief Marketing Officer Joe McCambley, Chief Operating Officer Art Melville, and newly appointed VP of Sports Marketing Tad Ehrbar, who is leading the brand’s sports partnerships. As a gesture of appreciation, Danny and Ellie presented Saatva executives with a signed rally towel featuring their “Kam-O” logo.

Additionally, Saatva District Manager Jacob Marshak guided the athletes through a personalized in-store product experience, highlighting their preferred items, including O’Shea’s “game-changing” Saatva Latex Pillow.

Throughout, O’Shea and Kam underscored that recovery is deeply individualized, shaped by training intensity, travel, and overall wellness, while maintaining that high-quality sleep remains the constant. As they prepare to take the ice for Stars on Ice, the duo pointed to rest, routine, and the right sleep environment as key factors enabling them to perform at their best.

The event reinforced Saatva’s ongoing partnership with U.S. Figure Skating and its broader commitment as the Official Mattress and Restorative Sleep Provider of Team USA and the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games—advancing the conversation around restorative sleep as a cornerstone of both elite athletic performance and everyday wellness.
