The DTC mattress brand debuts its fifth retail experience for the luxury of restorative sleep in California

The brand’s latest Viewing Room on University Avenue spans 4,383 square feet and is designed to transform the mattress shopping experience. Blending high-touch service with state-of-the-art digital technology, the immersive space invites residents to explore the future of luxury sleep in a calm, elevated environment. This marks Saatva’s fifth location in California and 33rd in the U.S., opening at a time of remarkable growth and momentum for the brand.

A New Design Experience

Saatva Palo Alto showcases the latest in the company’s retail design journey. Conceptualized by award-winning architecture firm Ware Malcomb, globally recognized interior design firm Hines Collective, and brought to life by national commercial builder Clune Construction, the space prioritizes a relaxed, mattress-shopping environment. Hines Collective integrates modern touches and emphasizes this new interpretation of restorative luxury sleep. This perfectly complements Ware Malcomb’s design and construction approach, which delivers an elegant, sophisticated experience in one of the most vibrant shopping areas.

“Featuring double-height entry and ceilings as well as an all-glass facade, the space is flooded with natural light. The dropped cove ceiling design truly defines the experience, guiding that light along undulating paths and creating a warm, ambient glow throughout,” said Devin Hines, Founder of Hines Collective. “Its soft, undulating lines introduce a sense of movement and rhythm, naturally guiding visitors through the viewing room while enhancing the overall customer experience.” There are numerous ‘wow’ moments throughout the interior, including a 6–by–10–foot changing digital display wall that allows customers to experience a Saatva mattress in the setting of their choice. Like all Saatva Viewing Rooms, the latest location is designed to be a relaxed, self-guided space where customers can use technology to interact with and learn about products at their own pace.

This location distinguishes itself from previous viewing room designs through its unique ceiling concept. While prior locations typically feature varying hard-lid ceiling heights with curved soffits, the Palo Alto space presented a new opportunity due to its tall volume and atrium window along the facade. To maximize natural light, Ware Malcomb developed a hybrid ceiling approach that preserves the open space. Here, the ceiling is open to the underside of the building and then drops down to curvilinear hard-lid soffits at the perimeter of the walls, as well as the “floating” circular ceilings in the center of the space. This allows natural light to flow into the space and emphasizes those curvilinear elements. 

The Viewing Room aims to redefine the customer experience from the moment a visitor enters the space. With its aromatic fragrance, subdued color palette, warm lighting, sustainable flooring, and textured wall treatments, Saatva reflects the beauty of the city’s unique character, creating a tranquil atmosphere to explore sleep solutions. Further into the space, silvery trees form a canopy under the ceiling’s gentle curves. Soft fabrics and floor-to-ceiling mirrors punctuate the walls throughout, creating a unified environment from start to finish. In keeping with Saatva’s philosophy, interior materials and finishes, including the architectural lighting, were assembled in the U.S.A.

Alongside Saatva’s full lineup of made-to-order luxury mattresses, there are new additions to its furniture category, the Regis Metal Bed Frame and Bench, as well as the Bari Leather Bed Frames, crafted to bring the same elevated aesthetic to every corner of the bedroom.

Thanks to a partnership with Samsung, the Viewing Room is outfitted with state-of-the-art displays and the latest behavior-sensing technology to help customers discover, personalize, and build their ideal sleep experience. In addition to the digital “hero” wall, composed of nine Samsung VM46T-U 46-inch Full HD Ultra-Narrow Bezel Video Wall Displays, information kiosks at each bed display allow visitors to interact with the collection at their own pace, with knowledgeable Sleep Guides on hand to assist and answer questions.

The partnership continues to grow through workforce development opportunities as well. This summer, Saatva will welcome ten college students through PENCIL’s affiliation with New York City’s Ladders for Leaders program. As part of Saatva’s Leadership Accelerator initiative, interns will receive hands-on business experience, mentorship from senior leaders, and exposure to multiple areas of the company before presenting their work later this summer.

The initiative grew from conversations that began in 2025 following a volleyball clinic in New York City featuring professional athletes from the League One Volleyball (LOVB) community. The Viewing Room aims to redefine the customer experience from the moment a visitor enters the space. Thanks to a partnership with Samsung, the Viewing Room is outfitted with state-of-the-art displays and the latest behavior-sensing technology to help customers discover, personalize, and build their ideal sleep experience. In addition to the digital  “hero” wall, composed of nine Samsung VM46T-U 46-inch Full HD Ultra-Narrow Bezel Video Wall Displays, information kiosks at each bed display allow visitors to interact with the collection at their own pace, with knowledgeable Sleep Guides on hand to assist and answer questions.

The brand’s latest Viewing Room in the eastern suburb of Cleveland spans 3,848 square feet and is designed to transform the mattress shopping experience. Blending high-touch service with state-of-the-art digital technology, the immersive space invites residents to explore the future of luxury sleep in a calm, elevated environment. This marks Saatva’s first location in Ohio and 31st in the U.S., opening at a time of remarkable growth and momentum for the brand.

A New Design Experience

Saatva Lyndhurst showcases the latest in the company’s retail design journey. Conceptualized by award-winning architecture firm Ware Malcomb and designer Hines Collective, the space prioritizes a relaxed and pressure-free environment. Hines Collective integrates modern touches and emphasizes this new interpretation of restorative luxury sleep. This perfectly complements Ware Malcomb’s design and construction approach, which provides an elegant and sophisticated experience in one of the most vibrant shopping areas.

“One of the first elements you experience is the incredible architecture of the ceiling,” said Devin Hines, Founder of Hines Collective. With its undulating lines, the coved ceiling guides visitors through the store as other design features layer on, contributing to that flow. There are numerous ‘wow’ moments throughout the interior, including a 6–by–10–foot changing digital display wall that allows customers to experience a Saatva mattress in the setting of their choice. Like all Saatva Viewing Rooms, the latest location is designed to be a relaxed, self-guided space where customers can use technology to interact with and learn about products at their own pace.

The Viewing Room aims to redefine the customer experience from the moment a visitor enters the space. With its aromatic fragrance, subdued color palette, warm lighting, sustainable flooring, and textured wall treatments, Saatva reflects the beauty of Lyndhurst’s unique character, creating a tranquil atmosphere to explore sleep solutions. Further into the space, silvery trees form a canopy under the ceiling’s gentle curves. Soft fabrics and floor-to-ceiling mirrors punctuate the walls throughout, creating a unified environment from start to finish. In keeping with Saatva’s philosophy, interior materials and finishes, including the architectural lighting, were assembled in the U.S.A.

Alongside Saatva’s full lineup of made-to-order luxury mattresses, there are new additions to its furniture category, the expanded Nightstand Collection and Rug Collection, crafted to bring the same elevated aesthetic to every corner of the bedroom.

Cutting-Edge Technology

Thanks to a partnership with Samsung, the Viewing Room is outfitted with state-of-the-art displays and the latest behavior-sensing technology to help customers discover, personalize, and build their ideal sleep experience. In addition to the digital  “hero” wall, composed of nine Samsung VM46T-U 46-inch Full HD Ultra-Narrow Bezel Video Wall Displays, information kiosks at each bed display allow visitors to interact with the collection at their own pace, with knowledgeable Sleep Guides on hand to assist and answer questions.

As customers explore bedding, pillows, and other top-of-bed accessories, an LED display embedded in the accessories wall changes to display pertinent product information. In the Saatva Kids sleep area, children can interact with the Flip, a 55-inch whiteboard with a touch screen for drawing.
