At Saatva, we’ve always believed everyone deserves to experience the transformative power of a good night’s sleep. Since starting our company in 2010, we’ve helped millions of people improve their sleep with our line of premium mattresses that are all designed and assembled in America.
While sleep benefits everyone’s health and well-being, athletes, in particular, need quality shuteye for optimal performance. That’s why we’re thrilled to share that Saatva has been chosen as the Official Mattress and Restorative Sleep Provider of Team USA and the LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games
“For over 50 years, I’ve sat on the edge of my seat watching the best American athletes compete at the Olympics and Paralympics,” says Ron Rudzin, Saatva’s CEO. “Now, to be chosen by Team USA to be their mattress and restorative sleep provider—to actually be a part of Team USA—is a dream come true for me.”

How Saatva is supporting Team USA
You may remember reading reports from the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 highlighting athletes’ frustrations over sleeping in cardboard beds in the Athletes Village. Rudzin saw this as a clear opportunity for Saatva to step in and help elevate the sleep experience for elite athletes.
In our role as Mattress and Restorative Sleep Provider for Team USA, we’ll supply US athletes with luxurious bedding products. We’ll also work closely with LA28 and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee to spotlight the essential role of sleep in recovery and performance.
“When my team told me that Team USA chose Saatva to be their mattress and restorative sleep provider, it validated all of the work and sweat we’ve done to build the premier mattress brand,” says Rudzin. “I am humbled to partner with the best athletes the world has ever seen.”
The importance of sleep for athletes
As Rudzin notes, “Restorative sleep is scientifically linked to better athletic achievement.” Here’s a look at recent research on this subject:
A 2023 review of studies published in Cureus concluded that tailored sleep strategies are key to athletic performance, recovery, and well-being.
The study authors note that poor sleep quality and insufficient sleep due to competition-related stress, travel, and training schedules can worsen athletic performance, increase the risk of injuries, and make recovery more difficult.
They share that some strategies that can improve sleep in athletes (and therefore improve athletic performance) are increasing sleep duration, practicing good sleep hygiene, utilizing mindfulness techniques, and reducing screen time before bed.
A 2023 review of studies published in Sports Medicine – Open found that increasing sleep duration at night or through napping was the best way to improve athletic and/or cognitive performance.
